About

Louise Regina Pirrotta

I'm a self-taught artist and have been creating art for over three decades.
My artistic journey began in my teens exploring the expressive nuances of charcoal drawings, often capturing faces from magazines. My artistic education was less formal, shaped by immersive workshops at The School at The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. However, my artistic prowess is largely attributed to my self-directed exploration and relentless experimentation.
I tend to gravitate to the Impressionism and Abstract movements, as they focus on conveying moods and emotions through the use of texture and shape, purposefully omitting unnecessary detail. This allows viewers to engage in my work on a more instinctive and emotional level. I also find enjoyment in pursuing a more whimsical style of art and folk art giving me the freedom to express themes of fantasy and simplicity. By drawing on elements of childhood wonder, these works exude a lightheartedness and playfulness that contrasts with the more tranquil themes of my abstract and impressionist pieces.
As I continue to delve deeper into my craft, I invite you all to experience the world as I see it—full of color, texture, and possibility.
